Fireworks–England

As I mentioned in an earlier post, there’s this fireworks competition in Montreal.

Tonight’s show was courtesy of England, with the theme “Stars of the World”. Their program comes just after Prince William and his lovely bride, Catherine, leave Canada–fitting, no?

Maybe? After tonight’s show, I have no idea what the theme meant. Music ranged from Rhianna to Kings of Leon to Opera, with no obvious connection. All the fireworks worked really well within the songs (appropriate huge explosions in a chorus–and what songwriter doesn’t dream of that?), but there was a collective air of “huh?” in reference to the theme.

But it was beautiful.
