Kentucky Horse Park

My dear friend Kate was kind enough to drive me to the Kentucky Horse Park yesterday. Kentucky (especially northern Kentucky?) is a place with lots of white fences, rolling pastures, and high-pedigree horses. The KHP is dedicated to all things equine. Kate and I saw draft horses, mini horses, race horses, champion horses, painted horses, and (in the museum) fake horses. I took far too many pictures, but here are the highlights:

Massive chairs at the Park entrance

Cigar, one of the best racehorses of all time--and who is 20. Have you ever seen a 20-year-old look this good? I haven't.

A beautiful Appaloosa at a breed exhibition

A conveniently-placed poster in one of the barns.

A display at the International Museum of the Horse, on the Park grounds

A final shot of beautiful Kentucky pastures
